Richard Powers is the Founder and Programme Director at Get Set Go Sport, where he has dedicated over 14 years to youth mentoring and community leadership. worked for the Metropolitan Police service with more than nine and a half years of service, Richard brings a unique perspective on safety and social responsibility to his coaching. He is a qualified youth worker who specialises in behavioral needs and gang intervention. His deep expertise in social inclusion projects allows him to create safe, supportive environments for those who need it most. By combining his background in law enforcement with his passion for youth development, Richard effectively reaches young people on the margins. As a multi-sports expert and educator, Richard uses the power of sport to change lives and build resilient mindsets. He is committed to ensuring every child has access to quality coaching that fosters self-belief and discipline. Under his leadership, families see their children transform into confident, motivated individuals ready to overcome life's challenges.
Jennifer Powers – Founder & Director As the Founder and Director of Get Set Go Sport, Jennifer is dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging and impactful programmes that make a lasting difference in communities. With over 14 years of experience as a multi-sport coach and a degree in Sport and Fitness, she has helped thousands of young people access positive sporting opportunities and develop confidence, resilience and life skills. Jennifer works closely with schools, colleges, local authorities and community partners to ensure every child has access to expert coaching, positive wellbeing support and opportunities to thrive. Her warm, welcoming and people-focused approach helps create environments where young people and their families feel supported, valued and empowered. Passionate about social inclusion and community development, Jennifer continues to lead innovative projects that use the power of sport to improve physical health, mental wellbeing and educational outcomes, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our Coaching Team
Ronnie is a former Taekwondo champion and a specialized behaviour expert who works closely with our Cornish Schools & Colleges Partnership. As a vital Multi-Sport Coach, he leads our Parky Blinders sessions with a unique focus on discipline and emotional focus. He uses his high-level sporting background to help young people feel secure and supported in their personal development. Families appreciate his ability to combine athletic excellence with a compassionate, trauma-informed coaching style.
Douggie John leads our Boxing Academy as Head Coach, contributing over 13 years of valuable youth mentorship and technical experience. He uses a creative, high-energy coaching style to help students master discipline and build self-esteem both in and out of the ring. Douggie is a dedicated mentor who works tirelessly to ensure every student hits their sporting and educational milestones. His presence provides a positive role model for local youth seeking direction and physical fitness.
Goldie is a proud alumni of Get Set Go Sport and a qualified youth worker with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. He currently manages our London Boxing Academies and oversees impactful Boxwise projects designed to empower local teenagers. Additionally, he provides essential community care through our Parky Blinders Parkinson’s project across London. Goldie’s friendly and professional demeanor makes him a firm favorite among the young people and families he serves.
Kacper transitioned from being a Boxing Academy student to a key member of our coaching team, recently completing his degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Currently pursuing his Master’s, he serves as a Multi-Sport and support coach within our London academies. He uses his personal success story to inspire the next generation, proving that dedication leads to incredible career paths. Kacper’s journey helps him connect deeply with students, fostering a lifelong passion for health and sport.
Gilroy is our Performing Arts Lead and a versatile Multi-Sport Coach with over eight years of experience in alternative education. A talented artist and playwright, he integrates music and creativity with physical activity to engage young people in unique ways. As an alumni of our programme, he uses his lived experience to provide authentic mentorship that helps students find their voice. His supportive approach ensures that every participant feels encouraged to explore their talents and build lasting confidence.
